Environmentalists Course at SFP

In November the School for Peace began a programme, kindly funded by one of our donor foundations, for Jewish and Palestinian environmentalists focusing on environmental justice. The program will run over 14 months in total and includes 27 participants from all over the country. Participants include environmental educators, a professor from the Technion and a professor from the Porter School for Environmental Studies at Tel Aviv University, and staff from local government who are responsible for environmental issues.

In March the group visited six sites in the south of Israel that highlighted the different and complex ways in which environmental and socio-political issues interact. From the use of solar panels in Bedouin villages underserved by the state to an eco-tourism farm project.
